What is an "Ollie Fern"?

I've often been asked, "What is an Ollie Fern?" Just to clarify, Ollie Fern isn't a plant. The name comes from my husband's teeny great-grandmother (who was about 4 feet, 7 inches tall). Her name was Ollie Fern. Her life was full of beautiful stories, and a sense of humor. She lived in downtown, Brownsburg, IN in a little white house on SR 136. She was loved deeply and is remembered well.

Names are personal and unique- especially in Ollie's case. I decided to use her name to represent my business because just as a name is timeless and personal, my photographing a chapter in a client's life becomes personal and timeless. I am honored to have the opportunity to archive a moment in time. There is a sense of antiquity with each photograph that I take- I want my photographs to be warm, meaningful, valuable, and memorable even after years have past.
